“Nano Powder Metal” promotes longevity, toughness and
high durability.
We have chosen this metal for the design of the model to make the scissors slim, thin and light. This makes them ideal for even the most precise cuts.
Stephen’s desire was to create a pair of scissors that are delicate, precise, yet easy to grip. This is intended to facilitate blunt cuts in particular. In addition, the lightweight and balanced design ensures user-friendly handling.

SLIM, THIN & LIGHT
The slightly extended handle and slim body underlie the scissors’ exquisite balance and lightness. They are easy to use especially on detailed haircuts.
The Acro S Moody can be freely used as an extension of the hand from any angle, enabling precise haircutting. Mizutani Japan pays more attention to fine details in the haircut creating clean and accurate cutting lines.

The satin finish of the surface not only has a design effect, which gives a noble impression by suppressing shine. Also, the titanium coating, which is extremely hard and has excellent wear resistance, ensures that the appearance remains beautiful for a long time.

Stephen Moody, an Artistic Member of the Mizutani Global Project, is one of the world’s leading educators of professional hairdressers. He has been with the Sassoon Salon and Academy organisation for over 31 years and is the Wella Global Education Dean and Education Director for North America. Stephen was recently honoured with the prestigious Intercoiffure Hair Cutting Icon Award in NYC and the 2021 North American Hairstylist Awards. Stephen is a finalist at NAHA 2024 in the Haircutter of the Year category.
Our Nano Powder Metal®, made with the new HIP manufacturing method (Hot Isostatic Pressing), is steel fabricated from a fine powder at the nano level. The uniform-grained powder is hardened with high temperature and pressure tempering, essentially eliminating all filler and impurities, and this method is used in precision manufacturing items like Blu-ray disc molds, where high levels of purity are required. At MIZUTANI, in order to create the ideal hair-cutting scissors, we have conducted our own proprietary research with this material, and created scissors with blades that combine strength with a long cutting life and the ultimate sharpness.
These bearings are made by shaving each of them one by one, using a resin material with excellent mechanical properties. Their smoothness and flexibility makes for an ideal cutting experience, and protects the scissors and screws from wear and tear. Our bearings are gentle to both our scissors and their users.
Compact and easy to turn, this is a flat type driver for UFO screws. This screwdriver is included with all scissors with the mark shown.
